Some nice gentlemen came by our house today and did an energy audit. Apparently there are some serious issues with our crawlspace. Not really news to me. This is an old house. It was built in 1901… although it has been remodeled enough that you really can’t tell.
Nor could the fellow getting the audit started, who parked, came up and looked at the house, and then drove away, thinking it must have been the wrong house. Kandace called him, and he came back after a few minutes… but still.
They also found that where the side wall facing the driveway is, there used to be a window. For some reason, a past owner decided that it would look better without the window, and just put drywall over it. So I guess we could cut up that drywall and put in a window, if we want to. I’m all for it. Although the view isn’t that great, it would let more light into the room… good, natural light.
